
Wall Street opens with slight rise
Stock prices rose slightly on Thursday morning at the start of transactions on the New York Stock Exchange, prior to the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping at the G20 summit in Japan.
Technology companies and banks went up, and energy companies were down. The chip maker Nvidia grew 2.4%
The S & P 500 index grew 9 units (0.3%) to 2.923, while the Nasdaq added 35 (0.4%) to 7,945 and the Dow Jones industrial average was down 3 units to 26,532. The Dow was depressed by the performance of Boeing, which is suffering delays in the process of getting its 737 MAX aircraft up and running again.
